night, Bruce and the E Street Band played for 2 hours and 45 minutes, 25 songs. Six songs different from the

You, Give the Girl a Kiss (live debut), and... featuring Bruce alone on piano... for the
first time in over 20 years... The Promise. Last played on July 15, 1978.

Notes: Bruce called this first of two nights on the boardwalk in Asbury Park--his first time playing this venue--a "night of rebirth" for him and the E Street Band. And what a night it was, with Bruce getting back to the loud noise again, along with THE band to help him do it. Though the two Asbury shows have been billed as one-hour rehearsals, this March 18 performance stretched to two-and-a-half hours, 23 songs. Included live debuts of "My Love Will Not Let You Down" and "Land of Hope and Dreams" (previously referred to as This Train). Toward the end of the show, Bruce told the crowd that it was "kind of a re-... it IS a re-dedication of our band, and the job that we do, and the
commitment to serve. So it's a big, big night."
