|Features Bruce Springsteen, with Pete Seeger and the Sessions Band, on "Hobo's Lullaby"
Two years in the making, this Various Artists collaboration between Appleseed Recordings (home of Springsteen's original release of "We Shall Overcome) and the Give US Your Poor organization at Umass Boston was created to raise public awareness and funds to help cope with the rising crisis of homelessness in America. International stars and currently or previously homeless musicians alike worked together on many of the exclusive recordings on this CD.
The highlight here is Springsteen's recording of "Hobo's Lullaby" with the Sessions Band, from their first session, with Pete Seeger contributing to the track as well. Other artists on this comp include Jon Bon Jovi, Keb' Mo', Natalie Merchant, Michelle Shocked, Bonnie Raitt, Dan Zanes, Buffalo Tom, and more. 19 tracks in all.
