| "A worthwhile rock 'n' roll memoir, and an inspiring story about following one's bliss." — Kirkus Reviews
Rock and roll legend Gary U.S. Bonds tells the story of his more than five decades in pop, soul, and rhythm and blues. From Sam Cooke to Bruce Springsteen (Chapter 11 is called "A Guy From Jersey"), Bonds' 2013 memoir is about friends and family, staying relevant, and how to avoid becoming another rock and roll casualty. Co-authored by Stephen Cooper, Bonds' memoir covers the '60s era that greatly influenced E Street as well as the '80s comeback when Bruce and Steven repaid that debt.
Foreword by Steven Van Zandt, who calls Bonds "a master interpreter and truly one of the greatest singers of all time."
Now out of print, this is a new First Edition hardcover with dustjacket. Wheatley Press, 260pp.
