From writer/director/producer Gurinder Chadha (“Bend It Like Beckham”) comes the drama Blinded by the Light, set to the inspiring music and lyrics of Bruce Springsteen’s timeless songs.
In Thatcher-era England, Pakistani-British teen Javed (Viveik Kalra) was chafing under working-class life, racial tensions, and a father (Kulvinder Ghir) who sneered at his literary ambitions. After a school buddy (Aaron Phagura) turned him on to the music of Bruce Springsteen, though, he developed the confidence and courage to follow his dreams. Also stars Hayley Atwell. An exhilarating coming-of-age tale-based on Sarfraz Manzoor's book
Greetings from Bury Park and packed with Boss standards (as well as his previously unreleased "I'll Stand By You" over the closing credits).
Warner Bros./New Line Home Video Region A/1 Blu-ray, plus Digital Code (U.S. only).
Also available on DVD.
