SHIPPING
OPTIONS
(select at checkout):
Standard
Delivery is U.S. Mail or UPS Ground in the U.S.; or
Air Mail for International orders. Please allow 1-4 weeks for standard
shipping. We always do our best to fulfill orders as quickly as possible,
and there's a very good chance you'll receive yours sooner than that....
but we do ask that you allow up to four weeks for standard shipping.
Expedited
Shipping is available to U.S. destinations. Customers requesting Overnight
or 2-Day service should have delivery within, respectively, one
or two business days from when we received your order. Expedited orders
received after 2 p.m. Eastern will usually be processed the following
business day.
ORDERING FOR THE HOLIDAYS?
For U.S. destinations, we can guarantee delivery before Christmas for all orders placed by December 10. Domestic orders placed December 11 or later may still arrive in time (we’ll be doing our best to get everything sent out quickly), but after December 10 only those orders which request Expedited Shipping can be guaranteed on-time. We also recommend using Expedited Shipping if you need your items to arrive by an earlier date (for a holiday party, Hannukah, etc.). Expedited orders placed by 2 p.m. Eastern will ship on the same day.
For orders shipping outside of the U.S., unfortunately we aren’t able to guarantee delivery time (it’s in the hands of the postal service, which does slow down around this time of the year), but we’d recommend ordering sooner rather than later, and we’ll be working hard to get your package in the mail as quickly as we can!
Thanks for shopping with Backstreet Records!

Japanese "mini-LP sleeve" reissues released summer 2005, in very limited quantities... order now!
In 1999, Sony Music Japan released a first wave of limited edition Springsteen CD reissues, each beautifully packaged in cardboard sleeves, miniature replicas of the original LP sleeves. This limited run consisted of his albums from Greetings through Nebraska (plus Chimes of Freedom). The packaging was recreated in exacting detail -- the fold-out postcard for Greetings, the gatefold sleeve for Born to Run -- including the original obi (the title strip present on LP and CD releases in Japan). A second wave, from Born in the U.S.A. onward, was planned but unfortunately never released.
In 2005 they tried it again -- and this time they got it right. Sony Music Japan again reissued Greetings through Nebraska in the mini-LP sleeves, followed by each subsequent album from Born in the U.S.A. all the way through The Rising. If anything, this series is even more detailed than the first -- with all inner sleeves, stickers, gatefolds, etc., from the original LP packaging recreated in miniature. Quite a feat, especially in the case of multi-album sets like the Live/1975-85 box and Live in New York City triple gatefold. Click on individual titles below for more details on each.
How about the sound? Well, we need to point out that none of these Japanese discs are remasters, at least in the commonly accepted sense of the term -- no new master tapes have been accessed. But as often is the case with Japanese pressings, discerning ears may note some sound improvements (likely the result of analog-to-digital technology improvements which have yielded superior sound from the same tapes). We can't recommend these discs if it's remasters or significantly improved sound you're looking for. But as the best-looking, best-sounding (with the exception of Born to Run, newly remastered in the U.S.) editions of Springsteen's catalog on CD, these are hard to beat. Highly recommended for collectors and those who appreciate quality packaging. Quantities are limited; orders will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
